Montreat Youth Conference 2017

Montreat Youth Conference is a gathering of Presbyterian high schoolers and their leaders from all over the country. Every day we experience keynote, small groups, recreation, and worship that is creative, fun, and energetic. Don’t miss out on MYC!

When July 23-29

Who Can Go High schoolers (current 9th through 12th graders)

Accommodations William Black Lodge

Fee $500 (We do not want this fee to be an obstacle to anyone who wants to go. DCPC’s Journey Fund is in place to help pay for trips like this. Click here to find out more and apply to the Journey Fund for assistance.)

Sign Up Details To get on the list a $100 non-refundable deposit is due by February 20th. The payment can be made in the church office or online (be sure to add “MYC Deposit” in the memo field).

Next Steps Balance of trip fees will be due by April 1st. Waivers and other paperwork will be distributed to all attendees prior to the trip.

Actual Costs The fee for Montreat ($500) is subsidized by the church to make it accessible to as many youth as would like to attend and we will never ask more than that fee. That said, we do want to make available the actual costs of the trip so that families who feel moved can have the opportunity to make an additional donation to help close the gap between the fees and the actual costs. Total costs for the conference, food, and lodging are $638 of which the church subsidizes $138. Again, the fee for the trip is $500 and no more, but any additional donations will be gratefully accepted.

Cancellations DCPC will be making payments to Montreat and William Black Lodge in advance of the actual conference which often makes it impossible to recoup fees in the case of cancellation. In some cases registration and fees can be transferred to another youth on the wait list (excluding the non-refundable deposit).

Wait List We will make an effort to include any youth who miss the sign-up deadline but may be constrained by room and conference availability. If that is the case we will create a wait list. Wait listed youth will be next in line to take the place of any youth that have to cancel.
