Youth Sunday is our annual worship service where the youth plan and lead all aspects of our worship that morning. This year’s Youth Sunday is April 30th at 11 am (one service that day).

Schedule for Preparation

1. April 9th We will take a look at the theme for Youth Sunday during normal Youth and each Small Group will begin planning the part of worship they will be leading. (This does not include confirmands.)
2. April 23rd Small Groups will practice leading their parts of the worship service in the sanctuary.
3. April 30th We will meet at 8:30 am for final preparation and breakfast together.

Theme

This year’s scripture readings are:

1. Acts 2:14a, 36-41
2. Psalm 116:1-4, 12-19
3. 1 Peter 1:17-23
4. Luke 24:13-35

The connection between all these passages of scripture is mercy. More specifically, God’s mercy towards us: mercy for when we are sick, for when we are guilty, and for when we are ignorant; mercy in the place of judgment. As recipients of that mercy we have a gift and an obligation to be shaped and tuned to be instruments of God’s mercy. Beautiful Eulogy puts it this way:
