Technology Free Weekend Please do not bring phones, laptops, tablets, and anything else that has a screen or needs charged. Car/bus rides are also technology free. Any technology items that appear will be held by the leaders and returned at DCPC on Sunday. If anyone has any questions/concerns about this, please let me know in advance! Why is this important? The irony of our technology is that we use it to connect to others and build community, but we often do that at the expense of building community with those we are physically present with. Having a technology free weekend will enable us to be present and connected with our retreat community. Possible exceptions to the no screen rule: smart watches, digital cameras, e-readers.
We’re Teaching This Our theme for the weekend is the series Stressed Out and here’s what it’s all about:
Have you ever experienced the heart racing, palm sweating, all consuming feeling of anxiety that comes with stress? If you have, then you know it can feel almost paralyzing. But that’s not the way God intended us to live. In this series, we’ll
discover that with God, it’s possible to live a life defined by freedom rather than stress.
Parents: get more details and ideas to try at home in the Parent Cue.
