Parents of children of all ages are invited to join a 4 week book club reading Dan Allender’s How Children Raise Parents: The Art of Listening to Your Family! First, here’s the lowdown on the book:
Any honest parent will admit they often feel like a complete failure. But what if being a success isn’t God highest goal for parents? What if God gives us children to grow us up, even as we do our best to raise our kids well? Imagine what would happen if you began to prize what you’re being taught by your children’s quirks, failures, and normal childhood dilemmas, rather than worrying about whether you’re doing everything right as a parent.
In How Children Raise Parents, Dr. Dan B. Allender offers a refreshing biblical approach to raising your kids–one that will free you not only to be a better parent, but also a better person . . . one who allows your children to help you grow up into godly maturity. Learn how you can let go of the pressure to make your children succeed, and instead discover how to grow into spiritual maturity by listening to your children.
The book club will meet 4 times over 4 weeks with options to meet virtually or in-person (or both!):
- In-Person meetings will happen on the Busse’s screened-in porch on Tuesdays (April 27, May 4, May 11, & May 18) from 6:30 to 7:30 pm (please wear a mask!).
- Zoom meetings will happen on Thursdays (April 29, May 6, May 13, & May 20) from 7:30-8:30 pm.
The plan is to read and discuss 3 chapters each week. Tuesdays will be led by Jenny Alexander and Hunter Busse and Thursdays by Matt Wiggins. If you’re interested in joining us, fill out the form below and we’ll send more details:
