Seen Parent & Leader Discussions

On Sunday October 31st, parents and volunteer leaders of kids and teens are invited to join us for roundtable conversations about the book Seen: Healing Despair and Anxiety in Kids and Teens Through the Power of Connection by Will Hutcherson & Chinwe Williams. This informative and practical book is meant to give parents and people who care about young people with knowledge and skills to help guide kids and teens toward healthier, more connected lives. Hutcherson, a youth pastor, and Williams, a licensed therapist, combine cutting-edge neurobiology, psychology, theology, and their own experiences in their approach. And maybe best of all, the book is meant to be read in around 2 hours!

When we gather on the 31st from 2-3 pm, we’ll split up into age group conversations so parents and leaders can share together about what their seeing in their families, small groups, and classrooms. We’ll talk about what we are finding is helpful, important, and challenging from the book and, as we share, discover our own power of connection! If any questions come up that no one in the group can answer, we’ll end our time together with some Q&A with mental health professionals. These conversations will take place at the Congregation House and on Zoom.

There are copies of Seen in the church office that are free to anyone who stops in!

And finally, please let us know you are interested by RSVPing.
