Fall Retreat 2022

Registration is now open! Click here to get started.

What is a retreat?

After a 2 year hiatus, we are back to a full weekend retreat! We call it a retreat because it’s an opportunity to pull back from our everyday life and focus more fully on the good things that God invites us to: community, rest, and worship. But the way we do those things is specifically crafted for teenagers and always includes an element of fun (and probably snacks).

Our host for the weekend is Camp Canaan on an island in the Catawba River. In addition to comfortable cabins with heat and electricity, the camp has a high ropes course we’ll be taking advantage of, trails for hiking, 2 disc golf courses, basketball courts, sports fields, and more! We’ll be taking advantage of the full island for a game in the dark Saturday night that’s always entertaining and something you won’t be able to do anywhere else.

Our theme for the weekend is The Good Life and we will be exploring how the Holy Spirit can help us experience more of the life we were created to live. Kind of like Sunday night Youth Group, we’ll have big group messages that lead into small group conversations, but we’ll also have extended opportunities for solo reflection in nature, art, mindfulness, or music.

Our hope is that by the time we leave on Sunday, students will have an idea of how God may be inviting them to a transformed life and that they will have gotten a glimpse of that through fun, time outside, and connection to God and others.

One final thing: rising costs have hit this event too, but we don’t want that to keep anyone from going. The Journey Fund is available to help pay for trips like this and we can make that available, just make a note when registering that you need some assistance.
