Being a small group leader was one of the best decisions I made as a freshman at Davidson. It gave me an amazing Christian community of fellow leaders and youth in the area. Leading youth allows me to see God working in new ways and I can’t wait to continue to see God’s presence in the students’ lives.

I grew up going to church every Sunday with my family and, to be honest, I wasn’t sure I wanted to be involved in ministry after leaving home. But after stepping in to youth group leadership at DCPC early in my first semester at Davidson College, I knew this was what I needed to be doing. Through helping my small group navigate their own journeys of faith, I have strengthened my own and the relationships within it.

DCPC has been my home away from home while I’ve been at Davidson! As a college student, the thing I have missed the most is intergenerational community. As a volunteer at DCPC, I have been able to interact with some truly spectacular folks of all ages, which has gone a long way to make me feel like a part of a big family.

Davidson College students have been a vital part of Davidson College Presbyterian Church’s youth (6th-12th grades) ministry for over a decade! Our youth benefit from your energy, passion, and perspective while you will benefit from a strong connection to a church community right on campus, a path to explore and strengthen your own faith, relationships with faith mentors, and the opportunity to give back to God and the Church that brought you this far.
