About Me

2021 is the 17th year that I’ve been working in youth ministry and my 6th here at DCPC as youth director! My hometown is Canton, Ohio, but I ended up in North Carolina because of a girl I met in college named Lisa. Lisa and I got married in 2007 and would welcome kids a few years later: Ellie and then Jack. We live in Highland Creek with two dogs and love to go on family adventures. This fall I’m starting grad school online at The Seattle School for Theology & Psychology and I’m looking forward to learning more about how to listen well and help teenagers experience God in new ways.

Why I’m a Small Group Leader

I was lucky enough to be in a great youth group growing up and pretty quickly after I aged out I realized I wanted to stay in youth group forever. Since then I’ve realized there’s something pretty amazing about getting a front row seat to what God can do in a teenager’s life and that’s kept me hooked. I love getting to answer tough questions about faith and life, telling stories about what God has done in my life, and helping others discover more and more of God’s love.
