Summer Trips 2023 Survey

Thanks to everyone who shared with us what they are looking for in summer trips for 2023! Based on your feedback, we are presenting the following options to get a sense of which trips have the most interest. Conferences

Massanetta Springs Middle School Conference

Massanetta Springs Middle School Conference is a transformational program that welcomes hundreds of middlers and their leaders from all over the country each summer. Participants attend keynotes, recreation, workshops, and worship designed by the Advocates (high school leaders) with them in mind. Encounter Groups provide an opportunity to reflect and learn alongside youth from other places, led by Advocates. Open to current 6th-8th graders. Learn more.

Montreat Youth Conference (High School)

What does it mean to experience deep, authentic joy? It can often feel inaccessible or artificial, yet opening ourselves up to it provides new possibilities and stretches our boundaries. Join us as we explore the sources and meaning of authentic joy grounded in the light of God’s love and healing power through worship, music, learning, and of course, play!

Montreat Youth Conference affirms youth in their calling to be and to shape the church of Jesus Christ. Our desire is to help youth come to know and believe that they are the beloved of God and to be a place where authenticity, community, connection, and God’s truth thrive. We seek to be an inclusive space where each voice can be heard and where each heart can be molded; where change is invited, challenge is expected, and where all are embraced. Mission Trips

We will be partnering with Youth Mission Co., a Presbyterian Church USA affiliated mission organization that exists to empower middle and high schoolers to do the work of the Church. We did our first summer mission trip with YMCo last summer in Asheville and had a life-changing experience through the work and the focus on social justice provided by YMCo. staff. Once we have a sense of the interest in the possible mission trips, we will make final selections of weeks and which trips will be available to middle and/or high schoolers.

Asheville Mission Trip

Located in the mountains of North Carolina, Asheville Youth Mission gives young people an opportunity to explore the hidden needs and struggles of those who are living on the margins within and around a beautiful tourist town. Groups will work with a variety of agencies working with those who are homeless, in poverty, or food insecure, both in urban and rural settings. Learn more.

Charleston Mission Trip

Located in the Park City area of Charleston, Charleston Youth Mission immerses young people in one of the oldest cities of our nation. Participants will learn about the area’s rich history as well as the current situation of the city. From slavery to today’s racial-economic disparity, at Charleston Youth Mission we will look at the common threads, serve our neighbors, and reflect on God’s call for justice and equity for all. Memphis Mission Trip

Located in midtown, Memphis Youth Mission is situated in the heart of Memphis. Participants in our program will have an opportunity to understand the struggles of those living on the margins in the city that is known as the home of the Blues and the center of the Civil Rights Struggle. Youth will volunteer at a variety of agencies, and through their work and their presence will come to know more about issues of homelessness, poverty, food insecurity, and the unsupported. Learn more.
